Natagriwal asbl, Department of Scientific Support, Belgium

Séverin Hatt conducted his doctoral research at Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech (University of Liège, Belgium) and was a postdoc fellow at Kyoto University (Japan) and at the University of Bonn (Germany). His is currently project manager on functional biodiversity and biological control for the non-profit organization Natagriwal in Belgium. His research focuses on agroecosystem diversification for the delivery of ecosystem services. He explores whether increasing crop diversity (e.g. through intercropping) and introducing flowering plants (e.g. through flower strips) in cropping systems would strengthen conservation biological control of insect pests. Currently at Natagriwal, he closely works with local farmers through field days, training, and applied research projects towards improving their adoption of conservation biological control practices.
